RHAP Cast Wishlist for Survivor 50: Thailand

Mike Bloom on Rob Has A Podcast is doing a daily off-season podcast in the next few weeks to pick and choose 1-3 contestants from each season to put into a hypothetical short list for a fan-vote cast for Survivor 50. The general criteria for contestants have been, so far have been a mix of viability, probability, and desirability.

Today is Thailand

Summary: A shorter episode today, mainly due to Thailand's infamous reputation with its cast as well as the season as a whole being considered one of the more boring ones by fans. Three names still appeared, however Mike did admit that two of them were a little bit more wishlist-y compared to the more reasonable one:

Wishlist-y wishlist:

Helen Glover: Was apparently considered for All-Stars and has been in staying in shape. Jeff has been on record as saying he didn't like the final 4 of Thailand, and Helen would be an older contestant if she were to be cast (69-70).

Ghandia Johnson: Despite the incredibly difficult experience she had on Thailand, both during the game and in the reunion, Ghandia has been involved in the fan community and in retrospect many have realized she got an incredibly raw deal from her season. However, production may not want to revisit some old allegations in the early history in the show, especially post Island of the Idols.

Realistic wishlist:

Shii Ann Huang: The only contestant from Thailand to actually come back in another season (All-Stars), Shii Ann had a rough experience on her season as a minority and was seen as a villain (although early 2000's standards of villany are somewhat different today). However, she was seen as one of the more fun members to watch in Thailand and in her later return to All-Stars

The current shortlist tracker

Next week I'll probably just posts summary at the end of the week rather than do a daily post for each episode to keep things more consolidated. For The Amazons, Mike has already said he's probably putting Rob C on the list so he's been added to the tracker early.
