Have you ever changed roles at your workplace?

I'm sort of debating weather to go for an internal job posting at my workplace. I love the company I work, just looking to see if there's things I shluld consider.

** I also want to mention that this is a temp position to replace someone who will be away for 1 year. HR has told me if I would get the job that I can return to my old role once the term is up.
