I am starting to believe that Catholicism ain't different from any other "cults" out there.

For the record, I am a catholic. I am not hardcore religious although I do attend mass every weekend. I do believe in God pero I don't believe sa teachings ng bible or ng church. For me, I just believe that God wants us to be as human as possible and that we respect each other.

I've been contemplating about this for a very long time na pero feeling ko mas lalo lang nasolidify nitong mga nakaraan.

For me, a cult is called a cult when people blindly follow the teachings of their leader and their church even if it does not consider the well-beings of its members. I won't target any specific "religious" groups out there pero we can specify siguro yung Jonestown. They have rules there which people follow blindly kahit alam natin na inaabuso lang sila ng leader nila. Everyone who leaves are killed and are subjected to torture, may it be physical and psychological. Alam ko yung ibang religious groups ganyan ginagawa.

Now, paano ko narealize into conclusion na we are not really different from other "cults"? Just see how the majority of its members discriminate gays and other members of the LGBT? Look how strongly their stand is regarding divorce, disregarding other members who needed it. We have rules that are downright unfair and unjust sa paningin ng iba. Heck, some of our laws right now are based sa Bible natin.

For some of us Catholics, malamang normal na para sa atin ito kasi tayo ang majority. However, hindi ba naiisip ng iba na baka hindi ito normal talaga? Na baka we are just seeing it as normal and justifiable because we are the majority?

I do understand that maraming nagagawang maganda ang ating relihiyon. No denying on the charities that our religion has provided to the needy, kaso does that make the religion less shitty?

If ever I die, I can proudly say kay God na kahit man agnostic ako ay at least I believed his heavenly powers and I've been good to other people. And if God thinks that that ain't enough to get me through heaven, then might as well not be in heaven where goody goody guys and brainwashed people stay.
