A condo a good option?

25 yo female in Philadelphia, PA looking for advice. I’m wanting to move out of my mother’s home and buy my first house. I don’t really see the point in renting at my age. Looking at my price range and where I’d like to live, it seems condos are my best option. I could afford some of the homes, but they’re in unsafe areas. To me, owning a condo feels similar to renting an apartment. Would love to get some insight and advice on condos as a first home.
