Why does my cat keep attacking me for no reason lol

Ille be walking into my room and he just jumps at me and bites my leg or ankle and it hurts he has sharp teeth I’ve tried deterrents like putting hand sanitizer on my legs so he doesn’t like the taste or something idk 🤷
