How to make a decisions about going to prom when I want to go but my close friends don’t ??

Hey everyone

My senior prom is coming up in a few weeks and I've been stressing about prom for the past several months.

I've always wanted to go to prom because I missed junior prom and I was convinced that me and majority of friends were going to senior prom and I even got a dress. But then they suggested going to a restaurant just with our group only and while that sounds fun, I thought about it and it would cost the same or more as buying a prom ticket and going to prom. So we talked about it and made a pros and cons list and everything. Both things basically would cost the same because one of our parents could drop us off for prom so we wouldn't have to pay a crazy amount for a limo or party bus. After seeing that the cost is basically the same, I was leaning toward prom because it's a once in lifetime thing and u get to be with ur whole class one last time. Plus the memories, dressing up, taking pics, etc. So I thought it was settled and that we were mostly wanting to go.

Today we were all supposed to pay for our tickets but theyre suddenly like they don't want to go anymore. Because they don't think they would have fun in that environment. I feel like I'm back at square one.

This whole situation is genuinely pissing me off. This whole prom thing has been on my head for months I just want to make a decision and move on.

I don't want to beg them to go but if they don't I'll be alone. Some of my other friends are going but they're going in other friend groups and they've rented limos and party buses. They did ask if I wanted to go with them but that would cost me $140 or $150 which I personally don't think is worth it for a couple hours.

If I go without them, l'll look like I have no friends to go with and it'll look especially bad since my parents are dropping me off. I feel so mad at my friends right now. I rlly wanted to go to make memories and have fun with them. I don't want to regret not going to prom years from now.

The only options i have rn is

1. Go to prom alone without my friends and get dropped off by my parents - risk looking lonely
2. Go to prom with my other friends - but I don't know their entire group very well so I might be uncomfortable / awkward - will cost $150 - but I will have people with me
3. Go to a restaurant with my friend group - sounds fun but l'll have to waste the prom dress I bought since I can't return it, also going to a fancy restaurant will cost around the same or more as prom

What should I do?
