grandma recently passed away, postponing test date, will still push to apply this year, should I include an explanation in my application

i was going to take it very soon but cancelling, the money lost is the last thing i care about.

if i take it june 27th, the score will come in late july so i will be considered one of the "later" applicants. is it appropriate to include why, will AOs care?
