When did you know?
Peace be upon you brothers and sisters / as-salamu alaikum akhwani wakhawati
(In trying to be respectful there I hope Google hasn't let me down)
I'm writing here for the first time on Reddit to get a wide perspective on how and when people knew Islam was the truth or knew that Allah(Subhanahu wa ta'ala) existed. It is a question for all, reverts, and people born into Islam.
I've been curious about Islam for the last year or so, taking part in fasting to see if I could do it. I completely cut out drinking and I never smoked anyway. I was also adapting certain rulings/practices to my everyday life. I very much love the structure of Islam and in a sense how simple it is.
However, with being somewhat a little scared of reverting/converting due to the transition, friends, family etc, I haven't & I think I have fallen into the same space other white men have when they are curious about Islam.
I want to be as respectful as possible because I know how kind and respectful Muslims are. I hope that my being curious/refraining in a way isn't seen as bad or a sin to Allah(Subhanahu wa ta'ala)
