Could someone please explain the Min Hee-jin situation to me?

I’ve tried to understand this situation (if it could be called that) but I guess I don’t understand the relevance or timeline so I wanted other perspectives since I’m relatively new to Kpop. One of my more recent favorite groups NewJeans was connected to this and I really don’t want them to disband if something happens with this🤞
