is it okay to take doxycycline doses more than 12 hours apart?

currently prescribed doxycycline to treat chlamydia and im supposed to take each dose 12 hours apart from each other. am i okay to take them farther apart from each other? like 10pm and 1pm instead of 10pm and 10am for example
