Lost a match

So I completely understand unmatching people you don't feel like going anywhere with.

BUT is there any chance matches could dissappear without someone unmatched or deleting account?

I had a match just now send me a message and was waiting on my response. But when I went back she was gone. That seems like something went wrong because why send a message and then unmatch?
