New on tret, BAD skin texture

I just started tret 2 weeks ago, and my skin is covered in little bumps. I have had some breakouts, which was of course expected, but the texture of my overall skin is horrible. I have been using a small amount of .025% everyday, sandwiching moisturizer. My skin doesn’t feel dry and is not flakey, it’s just super bumpy and rough. What should I do? Will this go away?
