Question about dirt

genuine question here. all the blocks around me are grass blocks but I want dirt. There are no sheep nearby either. How do I get dirt blocks with no sheep? You need them to graze the grass block by eating dirt but how can you do that without sheep? Any help is appreciated thank you fellow redditors! keep on mining and crafting
