Scene in The Acolyte that makes no sense (Spoilers for Episode 3)

SpoilerSpoilers

The scene where The Jedi talk to the Coven feels so off base for a few reasons.

  1. The Republic not allowing children to train in the force makes no sense. The Witches of Dathomir and various force sects outside The Jedi exist in Star Wars canon. They remained untouched, and left alone by The Jedi. Why would they have an issue with a random sect of Witches on the Outterim? Where literal slavery still exists and is ignored by Jedi? It reads like someone trying to parallel The Jedi to the Catholic church, and it just doesn't work. Its made to look like Its a false equivalent. The Knights of Ren were similar to the Church, and they were Dark Side users

  2. Why do the Jedi want to test girls that have clearly formed an attachment? And with a coven of witches no less. It's not uncommon for a Jedi to train an apprentice outside of the order. Ventress, Luke and Ezra were trained outside the order. Anakin would've probably trained outside the Order too. Osha was trained INSIDE the order. That goes against the code.

  3. Creating force babies is straight out of Jujutsu Kaisen, and is a pretty abominable act. That shit would've caused ripples in force so large that The Sith would've felt. And then probably wipe them out for good. That's some crazy dark side manipulation. Are theh trying to frame this as a good thing?
