How can I help my friend who just lost her dad?

My (F21) bestfriend (F21) lost her father to cancer the other day and I have no idea what I can do to be there for her. We've had a lowkey friendship, hitting eachother up once a month to go for a car ride or smoke together and we'd sometimes bring our boyfriends with. She recently lost her dad to cancer and I've been texting her saying that I'll always be here for her but she hasn't texted me much after that. Again we text very rarely and hang out once a month so with this sad news, I don't know If i should try hanging out with her more often. I don't know if im neglecting her feelings by not asking her to hang out more after her father passed or if she thinks that we're still just gonna hang out like normal and pretend nothing happened. I also don't know what to day or do. Should I ask her to come with me to the movies to get her mind out of it? Should I text her asking for updates on how she feels? I don't feel uncomfortable with the situation, I just need suggestions on how I can approach this without seeming insensitive.
