My wife will not cook and it makes me depressed
There's been a few posts similar to this, and I've read through them, but it seems to me that the posts aren't connecting or something, I don't know.
My situation isn't too different from the others, married for many years, I cook 99% of the meals, and have communicated in as many ways I can think that I am exhausted from cooking and need a break. I ask my wife if she can cook once a week or so, nothing fancy, but something that isn't the easiest simplest thing possible.
It's not a comparison, but fwiw the chores are pretty well balanced in our home and neither of us complain all that much, but the cooking thing is a thorn in our marriage.
It creates arguments, and I can't deal with only cooking for me and ignoring her. That's not right.
I am exhausted and I am asking for help, but she ignores me pleas.
How can she completely ignore and seem so heartless to something that is so important to me?
Most of the comments I read are insensitive and uncalled for in 2024. They are along the lines of "get used to it" or "try meal prep" but that is not it.
It makes me feel ignored. I hate the way it makes me feel. Does anybody have any insight?
