r/coheed's Song of the Day #62: Goodnight, Fair Lady

Jesus, you guys downvote any dissenting opinions like they're gonna hurt you. Really makes it hard to want to be honest in these things. How about we try to follow reddiquette and stop being little kids about differing thoughts?

Anyways. This song is good. I like it. "The Faint of Sufferings" I call it.

The Fiction- In a nutshell, Meri Amory goes out on the town after a year or so of Sirius being gone and meets a man at a bar who offers to buy her a drink. He "accidentally" knocks the drinks over, buys her another and slips her a roofie when she's not looking in an attempt to (obviously) drug her and rape her, etc. The drink is intercepted by a police officer and the man is taken away, but (somehow, I'm still not 100%clear) he ends up becoming Meri's love interest.

The Real- Claudio saw a creepy dude at a bar drinking all alone and had this fantasy of him breaking into a Broadway style solo. This song was borne of that.

The Part- Can't decide from the main riff, which sounds similar to the Fuel For The Feeding End solo, or the "We can agree to disagree" vocals
