(TN) Question about one parent financially abusing another with dementia.

Hello,

My sister contacted me about an issue my stepdad and mother are having. My stepdad was diagnosed with dementia last year and is at the point where he can't really be left alone anymore and my step sister has medical power of attorney because my mom is a pos and is generally unhelpful.

the issue is that my stepdad and mom decided to sell a rental house and my stepsister caught wind and asked me about it and i didn't think anything of it because it's their stuff they can do whatever they want with it. My sister told me they are going to casino's a lot (mom is an addict) and suspects my mom is using my stepdads condition for financial abuse.

I guess my question is that is there something in the law of TN that can protect my stepdad from my mom wasting all his money? My sister is the main person on this as i try to stay out of it but she is mostly worried about his medical care he'll definitely be needing and none of us can afford anything like that.
