Where did all the psychos on twitter come from? Why don’t you see them irl?

Every time I go on twitter nowadays it’s flooded with absolutely insane levels of racism, nazism etc. It’s a TON of people posting about how black people aren’t human, or the Jews need to be dealt with, spewing insane and disgusting things all day ever day. Like I’m not exaggerating and the things they say are truly horrifying when you stop to think that someone believes them. And there’s so many of these accounts, they get tons and tons of supportive replies, and if you go on their profiles they seem to be serious about what they’re saying.

Where did they come from? Did they always exist and are only visible now because of Elons’s policies? Or is this a recent trend? Where are they in real life? It seems insane that there are so many people online who completely subscribe to full blown Nazism but irl it feels like you never see or hear about Neo Nazis these days. (I don’t mean “far right” European parties, they are right wing for sure but the people I’m talking about are on a very different level)
