Just threw this in alpha feedback here: https://discord.com/channels/663395762486509579/1223268254814830684/1252603034232426650

If you like this idea, give it a thumbs up in the Discord. I’m reposting the content here for ease of access though:

“This would be a large thing to implement, but aside from the dedicated “flavor features,” almost all of the class features are very combat oriented. To be clear, I think that this in of itself is good and helps with tighter design, but one thing you might consider is stealing from the game Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition and giving each class a certain number of “knacks.” Knacks are dedicated social/exploration features that are chosen from a menu of options and that come with class progression separately from feats (or talents in DC20-speak) that not only add a huge amount of flavor and customization to each class, but also make sure that non-skill based classes don’t just stand around uselessly outside of combat. Everyone ends up with something unique to contribute that plays back in to their class fantasy. Unlike the current flavor features, however, each knack doesn’t necessarily fit the *core* fantasy of the class. They’re more like… subclass flavor features, if you will.

It’s important that these are separate from normal talents, because otherwise they subject the player to an opportunity cost when they choose them, and many players will not want to willingly forgo making themselves more effective in combat for the sake of non-combat utility. However, they can easily be incorporated into the talents system by making a talent that grants 1 or 2 knacks from a given class (depending on how you want to scale them. A5e makes them worth half a feat, more or less).

I’ve included some examples for clerics and druids from the base game as examples of what I’m trying to get at. I hope this gives you some inspiration on how you can support the social and exploration portions of the game! 🙂”
