I think I'll finally switch to AO3.
This year will mark the 10th anniversary of my creation of an FFN account. Truth be told, there's barely over a dozen fics that I wrote, but most of them were well-received. Especially one from early 2019.
But apparently, a lot of things have changed on that site ever since that.
The main reason I think this is that one of my two latest fics, even several hours after publication - has 0 views. (Yes, I know several hours ain't that much time, but I didn't have to wait that long for any of my other fics to even get noticed.)
That kinda hurts.
In order to get it seen, I posted both of those fics on that weekly thread in this subreddit. But I think this, of all things, is the most obvious indicator that FFN is no longer anywhere near its peak.
On the other hand, for those 10 years, I've been aware of AO3, and I've been aware that it was apparently more reputable than FFN, but somehow I never got into it. After what just happened (or should I say, didn't happen) to me on FFN, I finally visited AO3, and the two fandoms from those fics are still highly active on that site.
So, all things considered, I will probably also post those fics there too.
I have already applied to join AO3.
