How to know if bum is clean after bidet?

So, i normally check by toilet paper to see if there are stains but recently I have had an anal fissure and had to apply a cream using a q-tip into my bum and today when it came out there was a lil brown, no chunks or anything but a lil brown. However, when I checked with tp earlier today, there was none so I was wondering how do you check?
