JBL Xtreme 3 Speaker Won't Charge? I may have found a solution
Just gonna put this here just in case somebody encounters this issue and wonders what to do.
If your speaker still works but will not charge the chances are the cable that connects the power supply to the battery has been disconnected internally. Good news is that if this is the case, you should be able to fix it yourself. I managed to and I'm not very tech savvy.
To access inside the speaker:
-
The panel that surrounds the speaker can be removed by plying it open at the crease with a butterknife or similar (be mindful though that this may compromise its protection against water).
-
Once the outside case is removed you will see a series of very tiny screws. I found it difficult to find a screwdriver small enough to fit, so bare this in mind
-
There will be similar screws for the side panels, I would recommend taking at least one of these off so you have more room to work (or take the whole thing apart)
-
Plug in anything which looks like it should be plugged in.
-
For good measure give everything a clean with a jay cloth
-
Reassemble
I know this might be a niche issue but I'll guess that someone might need it in the future. Certainly saved me some money and hassle. If do end up using these tips and they were helpful please drop a comment😄
