Happened again - and charged for it.
My husband and I frequent the same few restaurants. We try not to cause trouble and tend to get the same servers. We will usually have 1-2 glasses of wine during.
Sometimes, a server will forget to charge the 2nd glass. No big deal. My husband or I will catch them and mention it. Sometimes, they'll just let it go. Every once in a while, they'll thank us and add it on.
I don't mind paying for what I order. We're fairly good tippers (min. 20%) so usually our regular servers will be the ones to let it go. Except last night. A young man we see every single time at this restaurant charged for the 2nd glass when we pointed it out.
I really wasn't expecting that for two reasons. The first is because he always does the checks correctly. The second is because we're there so often, you'd think he'd let it go one time.
I'm a little surprised. He knows us by name. He'll spend extra time at our table even if he's busy. It's only $7 but I feel kinda....hurt. We paid, tipped (22%) and headed out. I wouldn't be here today except: My husband mentioned it this morning.
