Cognitive science major for UX Design/Research

I am a high school senior choosing colleges. I plan to go into UX design/research after graduation but HCI/UX majors are scarce so I am considering majoring in cognitive science and later getting a master's degree in something more directly related to UX. Is this a good idea for employment? What other majors that are offered at many colleges would work for UX?
