Strange canine spotted in Richmond, VA

I know this might sound a little crazy, but earlier this evening me and my brother saw what I can only describe as the strangest animal I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately I was unable to capture a photo of it, however I would really like to know what it was.

It was a 4-legged animal, standing at about the height of a grey hound. Dark brown in color, thin muscular legs, a long thin tail trailing it, and a bead that looked almost horse or camel-like. Does We were in the backyard, and saw it walking down the street- we watched it for about 5 seconds before it disappeared into the bushes.

Does anyone have any idea what it could’ve been? I’ve spent my life around dogs, and hunting coyote, and I can confidently say it was neither. There was no collar or anything on it.
