A brutal reminder to myself why I backed out of the Connecticut trial 18 months ago. The mom's testimony about 6-year-old Dylan Hockley, who struggled to take vitamins for months, finally succeeding just to please his mom, and then got on the bus and never came home.
I posted about it a year ago too: https://old.reddit.com/r/KnowledgeFight/comments/xpwwrj/i_wouldnt_have_expected_to_tear_up_over_a_young/
The mom is testifying about her day-to-day with Dylan 10 years ago, who was autistic and liked everything in a particular and repetitious way. The mom is slowly describing her last memories of six-year-old Dylan, his struggles taking other types of foods or even just vitamins, and her drive to make sure that he's healthy. On the morning of the 12th, Dylan finally succeeds for the first time, just to make his mom happy, to both of their absolute delights. Then he gets on the bus. His parents bury him five days later.
This testimony, in my mind, is probably one of the most horrific parts of the trial, second perhaps to only the description of the bathroom. I think I can handle it better now though, knowing that all the denial of these events cumulates in the complete liquidation of FSS. Fucking get him Mattei, the jury there was more with you more than you realized.
