What is Pretty Cure? It’s a long running magical girl franchise which features a new team every season. It’s usually characterized by the magical girls, the “Cures”, engaging their enemies in physical combat. In all seasons they are considered “Legendary warriors”. The cumulative power level of a single team falls between the whether trio and Arceus depending on the season, so I gave them individually sudo legendry stats.

What is Yes 5 Go Go? It’s the 4th and 5th season in the franchise themed around careers, hopes and dreams, butterflies and roses. It’s the first season to feature a full team of fighters instead of a duo like the previous seasons.

Cure Dream: Reg G VGC

A special wall that doesn’t compromise speed or offensive potential, allowing Dream to smack the special attackers of the format right on their weaker defence stat. Dream can take advantage of her big fat ATTACK stat with 3 signature moves! Shooting Star is for those who seek pure power at the cost of some recoil. Dream Attack is for those who know how to read the room and are ready to capitalize on the damage a partner will inflict on the opponent. Lastly, Crystal Shoot a non-stab rock move that has none the less perfect accuracy which gives dreams not only important coverage but also a way to hit physical walls that might get in her way. With your choice of ability to either reduce damage (Friend Guard) or prevent stat drops (Butterlfy’s Heart) Dream can be excellent support for any team, unless you want to go on the offensive with Defiant that is.

Cure Rouge: Reg G VGC

In a nutshell: Mega Cinderace. With her own version of Pyro Ball, Fire Strike, which trades 20 BP for an increased burn chance and many of the same moves Rouge is ready to breakthrough even the tankiest of mons helped by either Moxie or Libero. Any fire week pokemon will have to flee in front of her priority Rouge Buring, and those who may resist it still have to deal with Close Combats coming off a 160 base Attack Stat. She is for sure at her most deadly on sun team where her fire offense can reach new dizzying levels of hights, reversely she doesn’t enjoy rain teams at all, especially when anchored by Pellipper who can take all of her moves

Cure Lemonade: Reg G VGC

Lemonde is ready to make everyone’s ear drums explode with her powerful signing moves, first among them Boomburst, if you want to leave this concert of pain sucks to be you since with her signature move of Prism Chain it’s unlikely that you’ll have this option. In case you decide to forgo Scrappy and have a concert only for the living, then Punk Rock is there to amp up the volume of the pain. But be careful don’t stare for too long at the reflectors’ light otherwise you might flinch and lose the rhythm, so make sure to bring out a Wide Guard mon to defend yourself against Lemonade Shining and its 10% x 5 flinch chance that makes Rock Slide look like a nursery rhyme. Sprinkle some Bugbuzzs and Close Combats to round out your coverage and you are set to go! That is unless you are running a Perish Trap team, in that case Lemonade has got you covered with Prism Chain and Perish Song

Cure Mint: Reg G VGC

People say Protect is the most powerful move in the game but Cure Mint is here to argue with that. Mint Shield is a plus 1 priority team wide protect, which makes virtually riskless do anything you want as long as you know you’ll be able to hide behind the shield. Access to Rage Powder also helps Mint to keep her team mates safe. Despite her great defensive stats and good typing of mono grass, Cure Mint is far from a passive wall, not only she can wild a variety of grass type attack along with Iron Defence boosted Body Presses, but the deadliest move in her arsenal is the one who rewards you for bad luck. Any enemy always has to think twice before attacking Mint since if her Emarald Saucer is broken, and her aim is untrue, then you’ll most likely get it by a grass type mono target explosion. Regenerator Friend Guard and Natural Cure are all good options to booster her longevity, since even is she lacks the moveset to be a true support mon, her signature moves more than make up for that.

Cure Acqua: Gen 9 OU

Cure Acqua is here to make sure your game plan will run as smooth as water. Acqua Tornado it’s her first signature move but you won’t use it for the damage since it comes off her much weaker Special Attack stat since among its secondary effect the most important one is that it breaks protects, allowing Acqua’s partner to attack what would have otherwise been an untouchable enemy. When it comes to damage Acqua can still pack a punch between Jet Punch, First Impression and Close Combat but when it comes to water type offence Saphire Arrow it’s the undeniable best option. Probably the most reliable move in the game you are always guaranteed to hit your target thanks to the sure hit and immunity to redirection, an eventual critical hit can only help, especially if boosted by Sniper

Note: This are the only Cures to have a pre evolution that sacrifices on of their signatures moves for stab on their bug type attacks. Probably not a good trade off even with Eviolate tho… unless they are allowed in little cup…

Milky Rose: Reg G VGC

Do I even need to explain this one? Do I? OK fine…. With Regileki’s speed stat and an attack stat higher than Mega Mewtwo X’s there is not such a thing as a pokemon that can tank Milky Rose’s assault. Luckly her defences are trash and all of her moves in her incredibly small move set are in a way are subject to massive amount of recoil. In this sense her incorporated life orb, in the form of Sky Rose, might just work against you since there are not too many occasions in which Rose will need the extra boost (on top of the actual Life Orb or Choice Band boost because making her hold any other item is just a stupid decision). Just find a way to bring her on the field safely and aim your Rose Blizard of Choice well to basically have an instant “delete enemy pokemon” button, if you want to dare and try to keep Milky Rose on the field for an extra turn you can gamble on High Jump Kick but if she hits a protect than it won’t be pretty. If everything else fails you can still boom and probably delete everything that is not a ghost type. To counter her just use priority moves or constantly protect till you can pick her off after Sky Rose recoil has accumulated.

Yes 5 explosion: Reg G VGC

A weird combination between Explosion and a reversed Heavy Slam this might just make it a Bug move worth using especially against the heavy restricteds. Slap it on one of the Yes 5 girls (excluding Milky Rose who doesn’t learn it) if you need assurance against Psychic or Dark types but keep in mind that as much as this move might be useful against the heavy legendries if you hit a support Pokémon with it (Clefairy Amungus exe…) it will probably be a wasted turn. Even then you’ll always be gambling on that 10% miss to not get recoil damage but the assurance against screen strategies might just the worth the risk.

Rainbow Rose Explosion: Reg G VGC

The ultimate high risk high reward move. To wield this move with great effect one needs incredible foresight, the only thing the opponent needs to crash your dreams of glory is double protect and your Pokemon will as well as dead. However, the upside of having such strong moves at your disposal are immense, Pokemons without protect need to run in fear of it or hope that the 30% miss chance is on your side. The entire team (minus Milky Rose who doesn’t learn it) can wield this move as viable coverage (or as good stab in the case of the offense lacking Mint), but its inconsistency, along with the charge turn, might just be the only nails needed to seal the coffin.

I turned the Yes 5 Go Go Pretty Cures in to Pokemons
