Sandisk Desk Drive SSD 8TB FAILING/UNMOUNTING

Recently used the Sandisk desk drive formatted on APFS and OS Journaled, both drives totally failed on me. I planned to back up 2 older MacBook pros from 2013/2014. Had to send in a bunch of photos to Sandisk and they are completely unhelpful. Do yourself a favor and stay TF away. Anyone else having an issue with this?
