Changed new cat over to wet food now she pees a LOT
I have what I feel is a dumb question but I'm just so paranoid after Weazie my last cat passed of kidney disease...
Cat 1 year 3 months Spayed Persian 6.5 lbs Recently adopted
Cloudy came to me on a fully dry kibble diet and she barely drank anyyyy water (maybe 30mls per day with clean fresh bowls everywhere and a fountain), I slowly switched her to wet food with a few extra table spoons of water per meal stirred into a slurry. Over time her pees went from 1-2 a day to 6-9. She now drinks NO WATER from her bowls (I measure before and after every 12-24 hours), I assume because she is hydrated but I'm just paranoid because I've never had a cat pee so much, though they are the "right size" (golf ball sized or just a bit larger) just more frequent I ASSUME because she's now properly hydrated. She is not straining, seems happy and healthy, plays like a kitten for many hours a day, and is great at using the litter box. Has 1-2 stools per day, normal.
The pees increased as the amount of wet food I included increased, slowly over the last 2 weeks.
I’m torn between knowing I changed her diet and that she’s just flat out drinking more through her food and rushing her to the vet for tests. Any thoughts?
