A great first date but what now after this?

I went on a date Saturday at 12pm with a girl and it went great, we had a great laugh and got close and ended up making out a lot once the evening hit and was out until 1am and had a general great day and night.

I suggested a second date and she agreed but when trying to find a suitable day and time, this morning she sent me this;

“Erm idk really I meaaan we do get on really well and I like ya vibe but I’m still dealing with some stuff with my ex atm and it’s not fair for you to be in the middle of it and I’ve realised I don’t really wanna rush into something so soon! I’m obvs up for being pals n stuff but I get if you’re not about that! x”

I’m obviously disappointed and a little surprised considering how well it went.

Is there a chance things could still happen if I stick around or is it best to stick this one to the gutter?

I quite liked her and thought I had hit the jackpot I’m not gonna lie!
