feel slightly used by girlfriend

Romance/Relationships

I’ve been contemplating posting, as I think my best option is just to redirect conversations, but Id love thoughtful suggestions:

I have a newer girlfriend, we became friends about a year ago. We have very different lives… we are both mid 30s, but I have a very grueling day to day career, she mostly is able to work from home, gets to sleep in, go on long bike rides (she’s a cyclist). I am married, she’s been single for several years. We have fun together and at one point, I became a wingman of sorts for her dating life... always providing support after failed dates, giving input on potential matches, etc.

Fast forward to now: she met her current boyfriend (very new relationship) while we were out together. I get daily texts with updates about this guy and the adorable (boring) things he’s doing. I’m thrilled for her, and I think this relationship is off to an amazing start with lots of potential. But I wish she were interested in the friendship and not just giving me play by play of each date and each sentence spoken. I tried to redirect, mainly I respond with “aww that’s great!!!” or ❤️ her texts and then change the subject to something else, but literally every time I do that, she stops chatting with me until the next time she has something to share about the boyfriend.

Am I being an unsupportive bitch? What would you do? Keep redirecting? Thanks!
