Profile Review: 170 LSAT/3.55 GPA
Hi guys,
Stats
170 LSAT
3.56 GPA from Carnegie Mellon double majoring in CS + Economics
25 y/o female nURM
Background
I've spent 4 years working in the tech industry as a product designer, most recently designing Gen AI products. I've been a part of many prestigious fellowship + venture capital programs. In college I was a part of the Mock Trial Team and had a plethora of other extra curriculars (dance team, non profits etc). Post college, I have worked with the alumni association to create and run several educational programs as well as and funding related competitions, etc. Thus far in my career, I've picked up several skills like coding, designing, analytics, etc and would consider myself a highly technical applicant.
One of the main reasons I'm applying to law school is because I've gotten to experience the AI boom firsthand, being deeply situated in Silicon Valley. I understand that how we deal with AI in the next several years will reshape our society drastically for the coming millenia. We need more people working within the legal system that have a deep understanding of AI, how it works, and how it is leveraged to be able to put systems in place that can effectively regulate it.
Also as a designer, one of my main skills is building user empathy and designing products with the "user first" principle in mind. This is the part of my job I like the most, understanding the needs of a particular user, crafting a solution, and being able to successfully present and execute on that solution. At some point in the past few years, I realized that my while I love my job now, practicing law is where my ultimate dream lies. I want to take what I've learned and apply it more closely to helping people, not just building solutions.
My goal is NYU or Columbia. What do you think are my chances? (Just a heads up, I will not be retaking the LSAT).
