Why is it when I think I can’t do it I just have to look at her?
My summer has turned from “yes I am adapting to no thyroid pretty good” to “WTF is going on? I don’t think I can make it to October” real quick. But then out of no where I will see her and be reminded that I can do this. It’s been 33 years since I felt this bad and have forgotten but seeing her watching me and processing what is happening makes me realize that she has now seen everything from being good while properly medicated to the worse it can get for me minus perimenopause.
She reminds me that I am no longer alone and there is someone who gets my struggle. She also reminds me that she never has to experience what I did alone and that she doesn’t have to figure it all out on her own like I did. That and she likes the tradition my aunt started to make me feel better about being only one besides her and her daughters to have Hashimoto’s. Find the youngest to be diagnosed amongst the family members who have had this condition starting with my aunt, was second now third. I don’t know why she thought that would help me and why it did but it did. I am still the youngest member to be diagnosed and my daughter has now taken second place. My cousin’s youngest daughter was just diagnosed and is third, she is 17, and her eldest daughter was skipped.
I post this just to remind those feeling alone and struggling that no you are not alone.
