Getting off Concerta - shortness of breath on long-term Concerta

Medication

Hey guys. I’ve been on Concerta 54mg for like 4 years at this point, and upped to 72mg a few months back.

Now here’s the thing, I don’t recall when it started but I do periodically get shortness of breath days on end. I also get mental fatigue, brain fog, etc, feels like my brain isn’t working and is shutting down. Walking around during these days makes me feel like a zombie as my brain feels so tired and fatigued. I also feel like somethings sitting on my chest and that I cannot breathe in and out fully, leading to me feeling dizzy and short of breath. My doctor and I thought it might be stress-related, and would stop after my major exams, however that didn’t happen.

I brought this up to my specialist today, and she suggested it might be due to me being on Concerta for a long time and told me to cut the medicine cold turkey.

Was wondering if anybody who had quit cold turkey before could share insight on how to manage and what to expect? And if you guys had experienced these symptoms not at the start of Concerta, but after a really long time of being on it?

Thank you<3
