A thread for sharing obscure UL gear designers and makers

Amazing deals can be had on very niche and purpose-built piece of UL gear, if you happen to know the individual creators that are putting them out. Some of these I have found through reddit, some through instagram, some though lucky google searches, backpackingLight, etc...

It would be very helpful to have a list of these little online sellers, both for the creators and for the community. I'm starting by adding a few that I know of, but please contribute. These should not be brands that are already very well-known in the community and/or have well-establishes stores. I will say that they should also not be sellers that can be found on GarageGrownGear or other well-known retailers, since they are already getting great visibility. The intention really is to find "that one guy who makes that one cool thing".

If anyone that I've listed below doesn't meet that criteria, let me know. Most of them I have purchased from, but not all.

• Friesen Gear (/u/skisnbikes) - Little 3D printed solutions for little UL problems (excellent trekking pole massager, thoughtful water filtration and sleeping pad adapters, etc.)

• Simblissity UL Designs - home of the lightest bug head net, and other small pieces of kit

• u/Theworldisalive108 - Excellent 2-gram tent stakes

• Verkstan on Etsy - 3D printed UL gear, as well as the lightest known Ti lid for Toaks pots

• Adotec Gear - Lots of gear, from DCF tarps to small Ti and 3D printed tools. They have a bigger shop, but I think they're still trying to make a name for themselves

• Grimwood Gear on Etsy - more 3D printed solutions, self-proclaimed lightest pot grabber

• Moosetrack Packs on Etsy - Packs, Fanny packs, tarps, UL rain jackets

• Herband Hike on Etsy - very affordable UL rain mitts and Alpha 60 hoodies

• BespokeUL on Etsy - Great Alpha Direct socks and other pieces

• Magnet Designs - Alpha Direct pieces and sleeping bag liners, quilts and other accessories for dogs

• Houda Trail - custom Alpha Diret pieces

• fabricdirect1 on Etsy - selling yardage of fabrics like Polartec Alpha/Alpha Direct for less than the bigger stores
