Mount Aspiring Blue Pools Closed??

Hi, I'm planning a trip to Wanaka and Queenstown and was really looking forward to visiting the Blue Pools (just to see them). It says online that the track is closed, and I was wondering whether there were any less advertised ways to see them? I'm not looking at trespassing to get to them or doing some ambitious obstacle course, but I'd really like to see them if there is anywhere else they are viewable.
