A few final builds pictures and some from our “shake down” trip. By shake down, we did a little over three thousand miles total and about 400 miles off road through New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, back to Colorado and through New Mexico on my way back to Houston just in time for the batteries to help run my refrigerators during the hurricane here in Houston.

The trailer wasn’t fully finished, but I got it done enough for this trip.

I delt with some minor issues, but overall am very pleased with the way she turned out. We ran Medano pass in its entirety plus a bunch of other national forest roads on the way to the Pueblo area. I pulled the trailer through Ophir pass which is no small fest with a trailer due to the steep grade, large rocks and tight switch backs. My brother’s stock JL wrangler rubicon scrapped some skid plates and the trailer had zero issue.

Some parting thoughts. The timbren axles are truly amazing on and off road. I can’t really recommend them enough. The dry weight was about 1800. I took it at a CAT scale prior to getting it registered and it was 2080 lbs with a little water and some equipment. In the future I would skip the tent on top. It added a lot of weight. For just two people this trailer is a dream, with 4 people you might want a lighter lower profile tent.

My plan is to finish the cabinets inside and a few external things and put it up for sale. I would like to build a version 2.0, and selling this one will fund the next project.
