Moving a device from a higher voltage to a lower one - a question

My parents live in the EU and have a Roomba i7+ they don’t use that they’d like to gift me. I live in the US. The base is used for charging but also for emptying, so it works like a vacuum cleaner, and therefore voltage is important. Unfortunately, this unit isn’t dual voltage. It’s is rated for 50/60 Hz, though, so presumably any fan inside generating the vacuum will run at the right speed in both places. My question is about the voltage. It’s rated for 240V, 1.2kW. Moving that down to 120V would draw 10A, which is no problem in my home. So my question is: will the base work even without a transformer, since it can still get the right amount of power (albeit lower voltage)? Or will the internal power supply likely just not work?
