I need help please!

I installed Fallout 4 through game pass on PC; I wanted to mod it and not realising you can’t through that version, have now cancelled and bought it instead so I can mod it. It’s only in the Xbox games file and that didn’t work with mods.

How do I ensure it is installed properly so I actually can? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall it?

Because at the moment there isn’t a file in the Program files (x86) for the game, so I’m lost.

Also if I have to uninstall/reinstall, how can I save my current progress? 😵‍💫
