Overheating
My golden got pretty hot on a hike today, she was panting heavily so I gave her some cold water, which she drank a good bit of. She stopped panting for a few minutes then she threw up and had diarrhea. As soon as that happened I threw some water on her and started driving home as fast as possible. I stopped along the way at a tractor supply to get her some AC and throw more water on her. About 45 minutes later when we were home she seems fine. I took her to the vet anyways just to be safe. They took her temp and checked her out and said she seems fine and that the only thing they would do for her at this point is blood tests, which may not actually show anything for a few days anyways. They basically said to just keep an eye on her and make sure she’s eating and drinking and has normal temperament. Should I still be worried? Everything I read online makes it sound like if your dog vomits from heat stroke they definitely will have some kind of organ damage.
