First period after laparoscopy

Hello! I have just recently had my first laparoscopy to treat my endometriosis, and I believe I may be having my first period now. I also had the mirena placed as my surgeon suggested it may slow down the regrowth of the disease. I am about 1.5 weeks post op and am in a lot of pain (feels like SEVERE period cramps) which do not subside at all with ibuprofen and paracetamol. Is this normal?? I thought periods were meant to be less painful post op as they treated the endo😢😢
