First period after IUD insertion

Hi! I got my IUD (Kyleena) about 3 weeks ago. My insertion went smoothly and I just had the expected cramping for a few days. About 4 days ago the cramps got REALLY bad and I started bleeding. I am having a slightly heavier period than my normal one (but pain is 2-3x worse). I took 600mg of ibuprofen and an extra strength Tylenol and the cramps were still taking my breath away. A few hours later my pelvic area went rigid, I was concerned something more serious was happening so I went to the ER. IUD is in place and there’s no infection or anything.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did it get better with time? How long until I should be concerned about this amount of pain/bleeding?
