(Art was done and character was helped designed by my good friend JhonDragonArt on Twitter!)

This is Sacerdos, the story for his inspiration was an interesting on. To be clear there are multiple things that inspired his inspiration but, the thing that gave me the push to make him was a PS2/Wiiware shovelware game called Heracules Chariot Racing. In short it’s a Mario Kart clone with chariots with some extremely unfair AI as it randomly selects one racer to be much faster than everyone else.

Anyways, there was one character that caught my eye. Snake the Serpent, I was immediately drawn into his design. He was a blue warrior serpent who was actually pretty well designed and kinda cute in a way. While I was playing I couldn’t help but feel bad for him. An actual pretty well designed character stuck in mediocre at best racing game. So, it got me inspired.

To be clear, Sacerdos was not just inspired by Snake the Serpent, more Snake was the one who pushed the envelope. He also inspired by other characters such as Komodo Joe from Crash Bandicoot, Ssserpent from Ben 10, and his outfit design was based on bishops from the period.

In short Sacerdos, like the other characters I shared, are Megaman Legends characters with Sacerdos being one of the Sky Pirate Dragons who ends up attempting to try to take over Saul Kada Island by making a cult and attempting to sell a form of indulgences similar to medieval Europe to try to give people “immunity” from the Reaverbots.

I’m curious, has anyone else got inspiration from bad pieces of media? I’m really would love to hear!

Have you ever been inspired to make a character based on a bad piece of media? (Pic related and details below)
