Did they changed that?

So after a few months I started a new game and played as Shadowheart Origin. I decided to follow the Shar path and killed Nightsong. But that also destroyed the shield at the last light inn. I did killed her once but I don't remember that affecting the shield. Was ist always like that and I'm just stupid or did they change it so it gets destroyed. And where is Jaheira after that?
