Is it still common for plastic to be on furniture?
I had plastic wraps on all my furniture as a child ( living room furniture to be specific)I thought it was strange to buy furniture but never enjoy using it. But my parents were too lazy to regularly clean so that was their explanation. They also thought the furniture would be worth money someday ( lol) so it was worth preserving like new.
Later on I found out that my Hispanic classmates and friends had the same thing in their houses. We all complained about how ugly the plastic looked. Plus the plastic would stick to your skin if you sat on it too long. Now that they have their own families none have kept the plastic wrapped furniture ( in fact several were all too happy to throw them away after their parents died). So, is it still common for this practice to exist in Latin America?
Is this trend gone?
