As mentioned this is a new vs 4 month old Sienna Bullstrap case. I’m not easy on my phone but I also don’t think I am physically tough on them.

What I do:
I work a desk job on the day to day but l have been camping, hit the beach, and built furniture with this case on me. If im not answering an email or talking on the phone I may place my phone on questionable surfaces. I have had this in a damp bathing suit on multiple occasions, both in lake and seawater, I have seriously dinged and scratched this case by dropping it and placing it in pockets/bags with keys or grit, and my cats initially thought it was a great place to test the pokiness of their claws. I have never applied leather conditioner but I have used diluted soap and water to wipe down the case on a couple of occasions to remove grime, most recently about a week ago. I have also applied a touch of raw bees wax to scratches and dings to limit permanent scaring which has worked as expected.

Thoughts:
There is no better product than leather and this case is no exception. The leather is fairly soft so initially any cosmetic damage is pretty noticeable but it seems to self repair after a couple of days of use and slight TLC. I do think this turned a bit quicker than I anticipated but the leather is a bit more thin than a leather wallet and is handled far more so.

Why I am replacing with a new case:
I have a small issue in the top right that may be apparent from the front photo. A small part of the case was pealing/stretching back and is starting to cover a part of my screen. Its not a lot but does catch my eye and is getting worse. I have filed it back a little in the photo but there is now a small hole in the leather. When the phone is in the case this spot is pretty unsightly as I am using it.

Caveat:
I will admit I do have oily hands. If you look at my post history I have a few posts on MacBooks where my hands/wrists will break down aluminum (crazy as it sounds it’s a recurring issue). I think this may have caused the case to patina faster than most people experience but it has done so in a very pleasing way.

Comments:
I love the Sienna color, though knowing myself I think the Terra color is more ideal as I want a darker brown to begin with. I think it will show patina less and off the bat will match my color preference. I may repurchase with Terra on a later case or my next phone but it was not available upon first purchase. I highly recommend this case and a couple friends have purchased after seeing my case.
