Save game?

I bought RDR 2 yesterday and played the first chapter and then saved the game (it showed saved infos in the slot) Started the game today and clicked Story, whole game started from the start sequence, and when i go on load game after the sequence it says all slots are empty. I don’t have Ps+ so can i only save the game with a cloud account?
