Tips for Maliketh & Gaius?

Got Messmer and Romina down today but threw about an hour of time at both Gaius and Maliketh to no avail. Currently using pickaxes and no summons. Maliketh just dumpsters me in phase two and all the phase 1 stuff one shots as well. Gaius is just.... Gaius. If I lose control of the fight for even a split second it's over.

Any lil tips or different weapon combos are super welcome.
