Ltcg change

Discussion

As per Income tax.

One residential property per adult person in family is exempt from ltcg upto 10 crore in gains.

Once in a lifetime, a adult can get exemption from ltcg, for second residential property. If invested back.

Assuming a family has 2 adult members, that's almost 4 residential property.

All rural farm land, is exempt from ltcg.

As per data, 65% ltcg comes from individual who have annual return above 1 crore in individual account.

Why such a huge backlash over ltcg doesn't make sense.

How many middle class owns more then 2 residential property with huge capital gains?

Kindly look at it with proper

Stcg impacts everybody.

All your property are exempt from ltcg, unless you have multiple properties and you trade in property on daily basis.

Also if you bought any property in last 5 years, most likely you will benifit from reduced 12.5% rate from 20%. Without indexation.

Indexation benefit primary helps people with multiple properties and investors. Not users.

Let me know, how does indexation affect you personally? And have you considered your personal tax burden ever?

Do you want less tax burden on hni, who owns multiple properties? Or you consider people with more then 2 residential property as middle class?
